Brussels warns on cost of Brexit ‘failure’

The European Commission’s chief Brexit negotiator has warned of long lorry queues at Dover and shortages of nuclear fuel if divorce talks between Britain and the EU fail.

Michel Barnier said there would be serious repercussions if customs controls were reintroduced and that four million citizens in the UK and the EU would face “total uncertainty over their rights and futures”.
